MONTICELLO — Rabun County completed its first-ever undefeated regular season after routing Monticello 55-14 on the road.

The Wildcats (9-0, 6-0 Region 8-AA) already had wrapped up the region title last week but did not let the momentum go to waste in a dominating finish to the regular season.

Rabun County held Monticello (3-7, 3-3) to just 28 total yards for the game. The only scores for the Hurricanes came a pair kickoff returns for touchdowns.

The Wildcats scored the first 24 points on a Cal Drummond touchdown run, a Bailey Fisher touchdown run and touchdown throw to Cole Keener for 38 yards. Andrew Barnes added a 38-yard field goal late in the second quarter for a 24-0 halftime lead.

Jakeir Stone opened the second half with a 71-yard kickoff return for a touchdown but Fisher and Keener connected for a second touchdown pass and Barnes drilled a 37-yard field goal to push the lead back to a 34-7 lead. Fisher added a 2-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter but the Hurricanes struck again on special teams when Jay Johnson returned the ensuing kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown.

Fisher added his third TD pass of the game on a 12-yard strike to Braxton Hicks midway through the fourth quarter and Justin Wilkes capped the scoring on a 20-yard blocked punt for a touchdown.

Fisher finished 23-of-28 for 292 yards passing to go with the three TDs and added 128 yards rushing for Rabun County. Cal Drummond finished with 159 yards rushing for the Wildcats.
