Habersham County woman awaits sentencing in 2014 death of motorcyclist

By B.J. Williams
A Habersham County woman remains in the Hall County jail awaiting sentencing in the death of a motorcyclist almost two years ago.

Officials in the Hall County District Attorney's Office confirmed Ruby Marie Marshall, 64, was convicted last week in Hall County Superior Court in the death of Jerald Freeman.

Initially, when Freeman's body was discovered off Pea Ridge Road in Hall County, authorities thought he lost control of his motorcycle and ran off the road. However, the Georgia State Patrol said further investigation found Marshall ran Freeman off the road and failed to call for help. She was arrested three weeks after Freeman's body was discovered.

At this point, court officials have not set a sentencing date for Marshall.
