ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The Piedmont College men's soccer team ended the regular season with a tough loss to N.C. Wesleyan 3-1 after keeping pace with the Battling Bishops most of the way. A pair of goals in the 75th minute proved to be the difference in the contest as N.C. Wesleyan distanced themselves from the Lions late to win.

The Battling Bishops were the first on the board as they scored the only goal in the first half in the 16th minute with Kobi Boompong breaking the scoreless tie. In the second half, it was Victor Munoz who scored the lone goal of the day for Piedmont in the 59th minute off an assist by Jose Linares.

For Munoz, the goal is his seventh of the season while for Linares it is his eighth assist of the year.

The difference in the contest came in the 75th minute as N.C. Wesleyan scored twice in 36 seconds to make it 3-1 and seal the game. The Lions finish the regular season at 8-8-1 overall with the USA South Championship Tournament remaining.
