McINTYRE — The University of North Georgia women's cross country team earned its third consecutive second-place finish at the Peach Belt Conference Championship Saturday morning at the Council Farmer Course, hosted by Georgia College just outside of Milledgeville. Brittany Truitt led the individual effort for UNG with her third-place finish at 22:10.1, the only non-Montevallo runner to claim a top-five finish. The Falcons won their third straight conference title with five runners in the top 10.

Sophomores Makayla Ellis (23:13.8) and Emily Sims (23:25.0), and senior Caitlin Connell (23:29.8) all snuck into the top 20, finishing 17th, 18th, and 20th, respectively.

Junior Jenna Tilton rounded out the North Georgia team score coming in at 22nd with a 23:33.0, with sophomore Lacey Ellenburg right on her hills finishing 23rd at 23:34.7.

The Nighthawks will get another off week before heading to Montevallo, Alabama on Saturday, Nov. 5, for the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional, where the team will try to punch a ticket to the National Championship meet in St. Leo, Florida to be held on Saturday, Nov. 19.
