Hall comprehensive plan update process continues with Tuesday workshop

As Hall County officials move forward on updating the comprehensive land use plan, the third in a series of public meetings to gather input is scheduled this coming Tuesday.

Sarah McQuade, Principal Planner with the Hall County Planning Department, said the session will offer citizens a chance to visit with planning staff and consultants .

"...about their thoughts for different land use strategies and areas within the county where they'd like to see different development happen, whether it be residential or commercial."

The noon to 6:00 p.m. drop-in style meeting will include the results of a recent community survey on the plan update.  It's the first time the county is rolling the results out publicly.

"The last I heard, it was over 600 different individuals had responded, which is a great, great turnout, so we're very pleased with the feedback we've had from the community on that," McQuade said.

Also at the session, planners and consultants will have information available about input gathered in the previous meetings.

As far as citizen comment at the session goes, McQuade said staff members and consultants will go over it as the process moves forward.

"...kind of look at general trends and ideas and develop different strategies for the growth in Hall County," McQuade said.  "The nice thing about getting feedback from citizens is a lot of times they can help guide us to places that as staff we haven't necessarily realized need attention or further investigation."

Tuesday's workshop will be held Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the Commission Meeting Room of the Hall County Government Center at 2875 Browns Bridge Road.
