Deal's transportation plan includes 23 projects in Hall County

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

The state transportation plan unveiled earlier this week by Gov. Nathan Deal includes more than 125 projects in northeast Georgia, 23 of them in Hall County.

Deal said the infrastructure maintenance plan, made possible through the Transportation Funding Act of 2015, includes an 18-month project list, representing a $2.2 billion investment, and a 10-year list, representing more than $10 billion in investment.

"Over the next 18 months, nearly 60 percent of the projects contracted will be for maintenance of our roads and bridges," the governor said.  "We are also upholding our promise of transparancy through the GA Roads website, which provides clarity through features unprecedented in state history."

The new website can be used to track spending and progress. It includes a list of the projects earmarked for funding under the program.
