By AccessWDUN staff

CLARKESVILLE - North Georgia Technical College has partnered with the Georgia Driver’s Education Commission to offer a free Driver’s Education Course. The state-approved Joshua’s Law Course meets the new requirements for anyone under the age of 18 seeking to obtain a driver’s license.  Most insurance companies also give a discount of up to 10% on insurance premiums upon successful completion.

This free course is valued at $350 and has been made possible by a grant through the Driver’s Education Commission. It offers young and inexperienced drivers an opportunity to learn safe driving techniques under the supervision of a qualified instructor.  The course includes 30 hours of classroom instruction along with 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

Courses are offered at all three North Georgia Technical College campuses, (Clarkesville, Currahee & Blairsville). To receive the free scholarship for Driver’s Education, the student must be a Georgia resident between the ages of 15-18 with a valid Learner’s Permit. Anyone that does not meet the qualifications but would like to attend will be charged a $350 tuition fee.

The classes are limited to 15 students per class and will be on a first come first serve basis. Completed registration and a copy of the student’s learner’s permit is required. Contact [email protected] or call 706-754-7734 to register, or visit:www.northgatech.edu for more information.
