Cross country: North Hall boys, White County girls take War Eagle Invitational

GAINESVILLE — The North Hall boys and White County girls country teams each took dominating wins Tuesday at the War Eagle Invitational at the Chestatee High course.

The Trojans placed four runners in the top 10 and finished with 46 points to host Chestatee’s 100, which was good for second place. The Lady Warriors placed three in the top nine to finish with 58 points, with Dawson County nipping North Hall for second with 93 points. The Lady Trojans had 94 points.

Jenna Gearing easily won  the individual girls race for White County (19:20), beating teammate and second-place finisher Jaelen Alexander by nearly two minutes.

North Hall’s Corson Teasley won the boys race with a time of 16:38, edging out teammate Tommy Johnston, who took second.

In the rest of the top 10 individual finishers: Dawson County’s Jacob Poston was third, Luke Stolz and Alex Stolz, both of Gilmer, took fourth and fifth, Isaac Hernandez of Johnson was sixth, Chestatee’s Ivan Martin was seventh, Richie Castruita of West Hall took eighth, and North Hall’s Eli Parker and Gregor Sebba rounded out the top 10.

In the girls individual race: Frankie Muldoon of Dawson County was third, Rabun County’s Georgia Stockton was fourth, Marley Hamby of Dawson County took fifth, Chestatee’s Abigail Cliche was sixth, Evelin Avitia of Johnson was seventh, Mattie Bohanan of North Hall was eighth, Sinead Obryant of White County was ninth, and Chestatee’s Merrie Barnett rounded out the top 10.

In the boys 19-team field, Gilmer was third with 108 points, West hall fourth at 119, Dawson County fifth with 121, White County sixth with 137, and Johnson was seventh with 138 points. North Forsyth took eighth with 173 points, Central Gwinnett ninth with 181, and Union County finished in the top 10 with 249 points. Gainesville finished 11th with 268, east Hall 13th with 407, Lakeview Academy 15th with 463, and Rabun County 16th with 468 points.

In the girls 15-team field, North Forsyth finished fourth with 108 points, Chestatee fifth with 112, Johnson sixth with 137, and Union County took seventh with 172 points. Lanier was eighth with 194, Rabun County ninth with 208, and Central Gwinnett rounded out the top 10 with 243 points. Lakeview Academy took 12th with 327 and West Hall was 13th with 360 points.
