GRAYSON — The Buford softball team pulled ahead in the seventh inning to knock off Grayson 3-2 on Monday in Grayson.
Lady Wolves shortstop Drew Puckett drove in the winning run with two outs on the board. Puckett then helped seal the victory in the bottom of the seventh shen she cut down the tying run at the plate to end the game.
Buford's Peyton Wolfe earned her fifth win of the year, pitching 3.0 innings in relief of starter Kennedy Kotula.
Puckett finished the game 2 for 4, while Baylee Sexton went 2 for 2 with an RBI, one run scored and a stolen base. Kotula and Biz Walters also recorded hits.
Buford (10-2, 1-0 in Region 8AAAA) will host North Hall in a Region 8-AAAA contest at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday.
