Rainy forecasts delay roadwork in Forsyth Co.

By AccessWDUN Staff

ATLANTA — Rain in the forecast means a delay for some road projects in Forsyth County.

A resurfacing project for Highway 369/Matt Highway from the Cherokee County line to Highway 9 in Cumming was supposed to start overnight Monday, but the Georgia Department of Transportation said in an email that work will now begin after Labor Day.

Beginning on Tuesday, September 8, crews will work Sundays through Friday nights as weather permits. Overnight work hours are from 8 p.m. Fridays to 5:30 a.m. Mondays.

The 10-mile $3 million project is supposed to take nine months with a complete date of May 31, 2016 on the calendar.
