It was double feature night for the Late Model Stock division Friday night at Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, S.C., as Trey Gibson and Mitchell Mote split the two 40 lap races.
In the first feature, Trey Gibson held off R.A. Brown to score the victory. Cody Haskins finished in third, with Kason Plott in fourth and Neil Meredith in fifth.
Adam Congrove, Taylor Nesbitt, Andrew Cordell, Rodney Howard and Kevin Vassar rounded out the top ten.
In the second feature, Mote edged out Haskins for the win. Gibson finished in third, with Meredith in fourth and Plott in fifth.
Brown, Luke Sorrow, Congrove, Nesbitt and Cordell rounded out the top ten finishers.
In other action, Pendergrass, Ga.’s David Murphy purchased a new car to go racing in the Super Stock division at Anderson. It paid off Friday night, as he scored the feature win in his first time out. Shaun Mize came home in second, with Billy Coker in third, Michael Mote in fourth and Jack Robertson in fifth.
Shane Brown took the victory in the Renegades feature. Chris Whitfield finished in second, with Billy Brown in third, Steve Guthrie in fourth and Shawn Campbell in fifth.
Justin Ashley topped the Legends field for the feature win. Justin Bolton, Payton Saxton, Connor Pyle and Rex Brown rounded out the top five.
In the Mini Stock feature, David Darnell held off Chad Campbell to take the victory. Bobby Brock finished third, followed by Avery Burgess in fourth and Ben Kay in fifth.
Tommy Davis was first under the checkered flag to pick up the Front Wheel Drive win, with Michael Posey in second, Scott Parker third, Don Tavernia fourth and Robert Hall fifth.
Anderson Motor Speedway is back in action on Saturday, Aug. 29, as the raceway plays host to the Southeast Super Truck Series for a 75 lap race, along with racing from the Carolina Vintage Cars, the Southeast Super Stocks, Mini Cups and AMS’ BM Modified division.
