Boil water advisory continues in part of Banks Co.

By AccessWDUN staff

BALDWIN — A water main break Monday night continues to cause problems for some City of Baldwin water customers who live in Banks County.

Officials said the break was discovered around 9:30 p.m. Monday off Old Highway 441 south of Harmony Church Road.

Any customers who live on the Highway 105 side of the break are advised to boil any water to be used for human consumption. In order to protect the public from a potential health hazard, all citizens who are on the City of Baldwin Water System and live in Banks County south of Harmony Church Rd. both on the Old 441 Rd. side and the Hwy. 105 side that have experienced water outages and/or low water pressures are advised to “boil” all water prior to use for drinking, cooking or preparing baby food. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. Citizens should continue to boil their water until they are notified by the City of Baldwin Water Department that the water system has been restored to full operation, and that the microbiological quality of the water in the distribution system is safe for human consumption.

For questions, call the City of Baldwin Water Department 706-778-6341.
