GAINESVILLE — Challenged Child & Friends has named Creystal Castell as its Family Services Coordinator.

As Family Services Coordinator, Castell is responsible for providing assistance to families by identifying critical community resources for parents and families and for developing relationships with these outside agencies in order to better serve the families of CCAF.

“Creystal will be our central contact for parents,” said Amy Gates, Challenged Child & Friends executive director & CEO. “She will provide information to help families find needed resources. In addition, she will work closely with teachers and staff to develop solutions for children and families who might be struggling.”

Castell will implement the character education curriculum in the preschool classrooms and will be available for direct counseling for children and families as needed.

Castell holds a master’s degree in social work and a bachelor’s degree in speech from Georgia State University. While working on her master’s degree, she interned at the Health Law Partnership Clinic, the Georgia Leadership & Education in Neurodevelopment and Related Disabilities and the Marcus Autism Center. She is currently studying to become a Licensed Master Social Worker.

Castell is active in the community and has been a Hospice volunteer for eight years.
