NEW YORK -- The final day of the 2015 MLB Draft proved fruitful for several northeast Georgia players Wednesday.

Rounds 11-40 were held on Wednesday.

A pair of Buford High teammates had the rarity of following each other on back-to-back picks.

Catching prospect Joey Bart, a Georgia Tech-signee, was taken a No. 808 in the 27th round by Tampa Bay while left-handed pitcher Jake Higginbotham, a Clemson-signee, was taken at No. 809 by the New York Mets.

In the 28th round, former White County standout and current Georgia Bulldog David Sosebee was taken at No. 843 by the New York Yankees. Sosebee, a hard-throwing right-handed junior, battled injuries most of the season for the Bulldogs.

Another Buford standout, right-handed pitcher Connor Bennett, a West Virginia-signee, was selected No. 1015 in the 34th round by the Cincinnati Reds.

Bart, Higginbotham, and Bennett each contributed to the Wolves winning the Class AAAA state title this past season.
