GAINESVILLE — A Hall County sheriff's deputy has been recognized for his work in the fight against domestic violence.

The Hall County Domestic Violence Task Force (DVTF) recentl presented its Officer of the Quarterly Award to Bobby Brumbelow.

John Batchelor, assistant solicitor general for Hall County and chairman of the DVTF, presented Brumbelow with the award.  He said Brumbelow has repeatedly gone above and beyond his assigned duties to protect victims throughout the course of criminal proceedings.

Batchelor said Brumbelow's dedication to protecting victims was especially evident when a defendant attempted to make contact with a victim at the courthouse recently.

"Deputy Brumbelow personally arranged for the victim to be escorted to her vehicle while keeping the defendant under surveillance to avoid any unnecessary interaction between the two," he said.  "This is just one example of the care he takes every day in order to ensure victims are safe and secure."

Deputy Brumbelow has worked at the Hall County's Sheriff's Office since September 2010.
