DEMOREST - The Demorest City Council has authorized its internal investigator to prepare a final report of his findings from a multi-month investigation of some $600,000 taken from the city.
That report will be given to the mayor and council, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and District Attorney Brian Rickman.
Mayor Rick Austin made the announcement around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, following a lengthy closed session during the city council meeting.
