Golf: Six area teams notch state spots via sectional tournaments

KEYSVILLE -- Region 8-AAAA had a strong showing Monday at the Class AAAA boys North Sectionals at Applewood Golf Club.

Buford, White County, and North Hall all qualified for the state tournament in two weeks at the Waynesboro Country Club in Waynesboro.

Buford fired a 330 and White County a 338 while North Hall shot a 341.

For the Trojans, Bartley Forrester led the way with a 76. Cord Sanford shot an 83, Michael Page an 88, and Brennan Manson shot a 94 for North Hall.

 

JOHNSON, BUFORD, BRANCH GIRLS ALSO HEADED TO STATE

Meanwhile both the Lady Knights and Lady Wolves also carded rounds of 240 and 283 respectively, to notch state berths in the Class AAAA girls sectional on Monday at Waynesboro Country Club.

And in Class AAAAA, the Flowery Branch girls fired a 305 to land a state spot after Monday's play at Herron Bay in Locust Grove.
