JEFFERSON -- The Jefferson baseball team closed the regular season with a double header sweep of Elbert County Friday in Region 8-AAA action.
The Dragons (20-4, 15-3 Region 8-AAA) took a 7-3 victory in Game 1 and a 13-3 victory in Game 2.
Ethan Garner was the winning pitcher in the first game and Jake Franklin was the winning pitcher in Game 2.
Taylor Wilkes and Hunter Thompson each had five hits in the two games for Jefferson.
The Dragons, the No. 2 seed in Region 8-AAA, will play host to Region 7-AAA No. 3 seed Lumpkin County next Friday in the first round of the Class AAA state playoffs.
