GAINESVILLE -- The Riverside Military Academy tennis team took an impressive 5-0 win over Coosa Tuesday in the Class AA state tournament.
The Eagles advanced to the second rouns and next will travel to Pace Academy next week.
Ryan Dimond needed just 40 minutes to take a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Sipho Khoza at No. 2 singles won 7-5, 6-1 and Armen Akoyhan took a close 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win at No. 3 singles.
In doubles, the No. 1 team of Andrew Eidson and Imanol Pablovich wion 6-4, 6-4 while the No. 2 team of Paul Popovich and Russell Bolton took a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) victory.
