GDOL hosting job fair next week in Habersham Co.

ATLANTA -- The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will sponsor a resource and career expo Thursday, April 23, for job seekers in the Habersham County area. It will be held in Cornelia from 9:00-12:00 at the Cornelia United Methodist Church, 275 Wyly St.   

The expo is designed to assist with the employment needs of active, retired, and reserve military personnel and their families. However, all job seekers may attend. 

GDOL veterans employment representatives and staff from the department’s Habersham Career Center will be on hand to help.   

The expo will feature more than 30 employers that will be hiring or discussing future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available jobs. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.   

Those expected to participate in the expo include: Arby’s, Brasstown Valley, Brenau University, Daly’s Truck School, Experience HVAC, Express Employment and Professionals, Family Care, Fieldale Farms, Flexicrew, Georgia Mountains Regional Commission, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Office-Cleveland, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Herzing, HomeSafe, HTI, Kelly Services, KoKoon Homes, Lee Arrendale Prison, Mansfield Oil, McDonald’s, MedLink, Palmetto School, Plastek Werks, Regions Bank, Spherion, Success Team Insurance, The Oaks at Scenic View, U.S. Veterans Administration, Waffle House and Weaver Automotive.
