GAINESVILLE - A memory garden will be dedicated later this month in Gainesville in memory of deceased victims of child abuse.

The dedication will take place Monday, April 20, at 11:00 at the Edmonson-Telford Center for Children on Washington Street.  It will begin at 11:00.

It is one of a number of events the Hall County Solicitor and District Attorney’s offices will observe during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

In addition, the annual Victims’ Rights Butterfly Release is also planned for 11:00 Friday, April 24, at Kenyon Plaza next to the Hall County Courthouse.

The solicitor and district attorney offices are also recognizing a number of local agencies that provide expanded support and services anyone who is affected by crime.  They include the Edmonson-Telford Center, Rape Response, Children’s Center for Hope and Healing, Gateway Domestic Violence Center, New Hope Counseling, Family Ties, Family Recovery, Creation Counseling, Family Connection, Hall-Dawson Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Family Promise and Legacy Link.

“Hall County is incredibly fortunate to have these outstanding agencies which serve as valuable resources for crime victims,” Hall County Solicitor Stephanie Woodard said. “By engaging these agencies, we are able to better serve all victims of crime and provide the necessary support they need to heal.”
