Tennis: Gainesville pounds past Cedar Shoals

GAINESVILLE -- The Gainesville tennis program made short work of Cedar Shoals on Friday, both boys and girls teams taking 5-0 wins at Longwood Park.

Neither team dropped a set in the wins.

In the girls match, Madison Kiser won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Haley Frankum won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and Leita Williams won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

The No. 1 doubles team of Georgia Summer/Katherine Wright won 6-1, 6-0, and the No. 2 team of Paige Ackerman/Ali Waggoner won 6-2, 6-2.

Jeffery Kiser won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles in the boys match, while Graham McKinnon won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Jackson Fox won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

In doubles the No. 1 team of Reagan Williams/Trevor Munn and the No. 2 team of Thomas Carter/David Davenport each won 6-0, 6-0.

Both teams will play again on Monday against Clarke Central at East Athens Park.
