MONROE — Dawson County captured the Bulldog Classic Championship with a 55-18 thrashing of host George Walton Academy Wednesday night.
The Lady Tigers (13-0) came out strong opening up a 22-6 lead after the first quarter. They held the Lady Bulldogs to 6-points or less in all four quarters.
Dawson County led 36-11 at halftime and 49-15 heading into the fourth quarter.
Senior Haley Burgess paced the Lady Tigers with 17 points, including five 3-pointers, and 14 of Dawson County's 22 first quarter points. Kaylee Sticker added 11 points and Karlie Bearden and Tabitha Morrison each had six points for Dawson County.
The Lady Tigers will jump back into their Region 7-AAA schedule on Saturday playing host to Franklin County.
