By AccessWDUN staff
GAINESVILLE - The Fockele Garden Company http://www.fockelegardencompany.com landscape designer Erin White has earned her landscape architect license.

White earned her license through a yearlong process that required her to pass five sections of the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE). The standards for professional licensure are prepared and administered through the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) and also require a degree in Landscape Architecture, or a related field, and 18 months experience prior to taking the exam.

The sections included:

Professional practices, project and construction management;
Site inventory and analysis;
Design;
Grading, drainage and construction documents;
Georgia practice laws, storm water management, soils, climates and native plants.

Landscape architects are required to be licensed because their projects deal with public welfare. In order to protect the safety of the public, landscape architects must be able to develop design solutions that will not harm the public's health, safety and welfare. The licensure process ensures that landscape architects received the proper training, professional development and skills so that their design work contributes to the well-being of the public.
