The USA South Athletic Conference has released the first Player of the Week listing for the basketball season and Piedmont's own Chase England earned the first men's basketball Player of the Week honors of the year. England averaged a double-double over the past two games, a pair of victories for the Lions.
Piedmont won 85-64 against Oglethorpe with England having an impressive performance with 18 points and 15 rebounds, then continued to add to that total with 14 points and eight rebounds in an 87-75 win over Toccoa Falls. England, a Gainesvilel High graduate, leads the team with 20 defensive rebounds and is second on the team in total rebounds.
The USA South Athletic Conference announces its weekly honor roll each Monday and at least half of the teams in a sport must have competed within the previous week for honors to be awarded.
