Red Cross program allows Georgians to say thank you to military during holidays

ATLANTA - Holiday Mail for Heroes , a program created by the American Red Cross, distributes holiday greeting cards to military members and their families.

The program enables Americans to “Give Something That Means Something” this holiday season by inviting the public to send cards of thanks, encouragement and holiday cheer to members of the military.

"We are inviting the public to sign homemade or store bought cards to be sent through the Red Cross to active duty service members, their families and veterans," said Sherri Nicholson with the American Red Cross of Georgia

"We may not know someone specifically in the military, but that is the beauty of this program. The gratitude in your heart can be conveyed in a card."

Cards are distributed to hundreds of locations domestically and around the world, including military installations, military and VA medical facilities and veterans organizations. For more information, visit the American Red Cross website.
