ATLANTA (AP) -- Federal authorities say three people were found trying to take loaded guns and inert grenades onto flights departing from Atlanta's airport.
TSA officials said in a statement Thursday that two loaded guns were found in carry-on bags at 6:40 and 7 a.m. Officials say screeners also found two inert grenades in a third passenger's checked bag around 10:30 a.m. Authorities say the weapons were recovered in unrelated cases and the grenades were given to local police.
Atlanta police say a 35-year-old man who said he forgot his gun was in his bag was arrested for having an expired permit.
Former reality television star Benzino was also arrested at the airport Wednesday for having a gun in his bag.
Unloaded firearms may fly in checked bags and grenades are prohibited.
