LAGRANGE, Ga. (AP) Authorities say a 1-year-old boy had died in an apparent accidental drowning in a west Georgia lake. <br />
Troup County sheriff's officials say deputies were called to West Point Lake after a 911 call early Sunday afternoon. <br />
Authorities said the boy's mother had found the child unresponsive in shallow water. Sheriff's officials said CPR and other life-saving measures were attempted. The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports that the child was taken to West Georgia Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:56 p.m. Sunday. <br />
The boy's name was not immediately released. <br />
The lake near LaGrange is just east of the Georgia-Alabama line. <br />
Four Confederate battle flags were found on the grounds of the Ebenezer Baptist Church near the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Atlanta on Thursday, and police and federal authorities were investigating.
