New Forsyth County Animal Shelter open

CUMMING - Forsyth County officially has its own animal shelter following a Friday ribbon cutting.<br /> <br /> The 13,700 square foot facility is just off of Georgia 400 on County Way in the north end of the county. The county funded the project through the voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax dating back to 2011.<br /> <br /> The new digs mean the county will not have to contract out shelter operations.<br /> <br /> The shelter's hours for adoptions are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The drop-off and reclaim an animal hours are Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <i>Forsyth County Animal Shelter <br /> 4065 County Way, Cumming, Georgia 30028 <br /> (678) 965-7187<i>
