New Forsyth County Animal Shelter open

By Derreck Booth Anchor/reporter
CUMMING - Forsyth County officially has its own animal shelter following a Friday ribbon cutting.

The 13,700 square foot facility is just off of Georgia 400 on County Way in the north end of the county. The county funded the project through the voter-approved Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax dating back to 2011.

The new digs mean the county will not have to contract out shelter operations.

The shelter's hours for adoptions are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The drop-off and reclaim an animal hours are Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Forsyth County Animal Shelter
4065 County Way, Cumming, Georgia 30028
(678) 965-7187
