Jefferson's Sammy Williams (2) runs away from the Rabun County defense in the Dragons' win over the Wildcats on Friday in Jefferson.

The Dragons stormed to a big win over Rabun County in their season opener at home, claiming a 50-14 victory. Jefferson's stormer was one of a handful of games for area programs on the opening night of live prep football around the state -- yet Johnson and Lumpkin County could not pick up victories in their season kickoffs, falling at Madison County and Model, respectively. Hebron Christian also took out East Jackson 35-15 in Commerce.<br />
