Lilburn woman shoots suspected burglar through door

LILBURN, Ga. (AP) Gwinnett County police say a 73-year-old woman shot through a door and wounded suspected burglar as he approached her bedroom. <br /> <br /> Police spokesman Jake Smith said Thursday that the woman called 911 when she heard glass breaking at her back door and fired through her bedroom door when she saw a flashlight shining on the other side. <br /> <br /> Smith says the suspect, identified as Jamie Christopher Lewis, took himself to the Eastside Medical Center and was suffering from a non-life threatening wound to his chest. Smith says a Snellville Police officer called Gwinnett County police when he noticed the man had been shot. <br /> <br /> Lewis is charged with burglary.
