GSP releases name of man killed in tractor accident

DAWSONVILLE - The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) has released the name of man killed in a farm tractor accident in Dawson County Wednesday evening.<br /> <br /> 63-year-old Jerry Ledford of Cumming died in the accident while he was mowing along the east edge of River Bend Road according to GSP.<br /> <br /> It happened around 7:48 p.m. on the road off of Highway 136, northwest of Georgia 400.<br /> <br /> The accident happened when Ledford made a U-turn, according to Franka Young with the Department of Public Safety public information office.<br /> <br /> Troopers said Ledford lost control of the tractor. It rotated down an embankment and overturned. Ledford fell off the tractor, and it overturned on top of him, according to Young.<br /> <br /> The tractor continued down the embankment hitting a group of trees.
