ATLANTA (AP) -- Police say a woman accused of stealing a Cobb County patrol car and fleeing on Interstate 75 has been taken into custody.<br />
Cobb County police spokesman Mike Bowman says officers were responding to a report of a suspicious and armed woman on Windy Hill Drive near Interstate 75 Sunday afternoon. Bowman says the woman was able to get into a marked patrol car and flee southbound on the interstate.<br />
Bowman says police pursued the woman and she hit several cars when she exited the freeway in downtown Atlanta. Bowman says multiple injuries have been reported.<br />
Police say the woman has been taken into custody. Her identity hasn't been released and the chase prompted closures of southbound lanes of the downtown connector - where interstates 75 and 85 meet in Atlanta.
