Boil water advisory lifted for Demorest customers

DEMOREST - The boil water advisory issued Friday for Demorest water customers has been lifted.<br /> <br /> Demorest Mayor Rick Austin released the information about 6:45 p.m. Saturday, saying there is no longer a need to boil water before consumption.<br /> <br /> Friday morning's broken six-inch water main, located on Georgia Highway 105 near Riverbend Road in the Fairview community, is believed to be the result of lightning striking a tree.
