Volleyball: North Hall wins Battle of the Branch; Lakeview splits

FLOWERY BRANCH -- The North Hall girls volleyball team had an impressive start to open the 20-14 season Saturday.<br /> <br /> The Lady Trojans did not drop a set in winning all five matches at the Battle at the Branch tournament at the Flowery Branch gym.<br /> <br /> North Hall beat host 25-18, 25-7 and then held off Chestatee 26-24, 25-16. North Hall whipped Tucker 25-5, 25-7, knocked off Lakeview Academy 25-13, 25-22 and then finished off the sweep with a 26-24, 25-17 win over Sandy Creek in the finale.<br /> <br /> Sydney Cleveland had 22 kills, 21 digs, and five aces, Lily Paschall had 74 assists and eight aces, and Julie Daniels added 19 kills and 45 digs for North Hall. Jen Mullican had 19 kills, nine blocks, and 11 aces, Autumn Tucker had 20 kills, and Makenzie Bryant had 50 digs and eight aces.<br /> <br /> Kesley Little had 16 digs, five aces, and an eight-point service run for the Lady Trojans.<br /> <br /> For Lakeview Academy, the Lady Lions went 2-2 at the tournament.<br /> <br /> The Lady Lions whipped Habersham Central 25-13, 25-17 and Johnson 25-6, 25-9 in straight sets before dropping the final two matches to Harris County (25-19, 27-25) and North Hall (25-13, 25-22). <br /> <br /> Katie White led the Lady Lions with 33 kills, 33 digs, and six aces. Katie Gay added 15 kills, 20 digs and six aces and Schyler Miller had 26 digs and six aces.<br /> <br /> Bailey Towles added 34 assists to go with nine aces. Delaney Jarrett added 20 assists and seven aces.<br /> <br /> Lakeview next will play host to Hart County on Tuesday.
