Dillard man charged in kidnapping, rape, battery

CLAYTON - Rabun County Sheriff Frank Andrews has just released initial details of a case involving the kidnapping and sexual assault of a young Dillard woman.<br /> <br /> Andrews reports that on Aug. 1, Dillard Police Department requested assistance from his department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in the case.<br /> <br /> According to Andrews' statement, Dillard Police reported to the Rabun County Sheriff's Office that a Hispanic male had kidnapped and sexually assaulted a young female from the Dillard area. <br /> <br /> Shortly after 5 p.m. that day, the father began looking for his daughter and heard her yelling for him. <br /> <br /> "As the father was going into a wooded area located next to Franklin Street, he saw a young Hispanic male running from where his daughter was lying on the ground," the statement, issued on behalf of Dillard P.D., reads. "He chased the male and lost him in the wooded area. He then called 9-1-1 and reported what had happen to his daughter."<br /> <br /> Evidence recovered at that location resulted in the arrest of 20-year-old Alexis Domingues of Dillard, who is charged with rape, kidnapping and battery.<br /> <br /> Domingues is being held at Rabun County Detention Center, with bond set at $25,000 on the battery charge.<br /> <br /> Andrews said Domingues is being held without bond on the rape charge and must go before a superior court judge.<br /> <br /> The incident remains under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Andrews said. <br />
