Sunday accident closes one lane of I-85 south of Jefferson

JEFFERSON - A three vehicle accident closed the left southbound lane of I-85 south of Jefferson for a period of time Sunday night.<br /> <br /> According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident occurred around 5:25 pm, as a Dodge Ram pickup and a Lexus RX359 were stopped due to traffic. A southbound Toyota Highlander could not stop and struck the Lexus, pushing it into the median. The Toyota then continued forward, striking the pickup.<br /> <br /> The driver of the Toyota, identified as 50 year old John J. Oliga of Atlanta and his passenger, 49 year old Jeanine Olga, complained of injuries but were not transported. Oliga was charged with following too closely.<br /> <br /> A minor in the Lexus complained of injures but was not transported.<br /> <br /> The State Patrol says the accident report is not complete.<br /> <br />
