JEFFERSON - The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) is helping Home Goods recruit workers for a new distribution center opening soon in Jackson County.<br />
The recruitment fair is being conducted until 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31 at the Jefferson Civic Center at 65 Kissam Street.<br />
GDOL said the company is hiring for array of jobs including an operations manager, human resources supervisor, a training specialist, a systems support specialist, an electronics specialist, an industrial engineer, and a merchandise controller, along with warehouse associates, shipping and receiving clerks, maintenance supervisors and technicians and administrative associates. <br />
GDOL said other recruitment efforts may be scheduled in the future.
Due to program and enrollment growth at its Cumming Campus, the University of North Georgia plans to lease the top floor of the Cumming City Hall for its Master of Business Administration and continuing education and professional development programs, that according to Associate Vice President of University Relations Kate Maine.
With two-thirds of Hall County’s population living south of Oakwood (according to the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce) the South Hall Business Coalition wanted to hear from Sheriff Gerald Couch and tour the new Sheriff’s Office headquarters building that opened in their part of the county in November 2014.
