CUMMING - Forsyth County Schools, STEM Georgia (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Discovery Education partnered Friday to host the Georgia STEM Leadership Summit.<br />
It was billed as "an interactive discussion on best practices for providing Georgia's students with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they need to succeed in the STEM careers of tomorrow." More than 50 teachers and administrators from across the state are participating. <br />
The meeting explored the best ways to implement "innovative curricula" to enhance STEM education. <br />
Since 2001, Forsyth County Schools has partnered with Discovery Education to transform teaching and learning in classrooms district-wide. Currently, students grades K-12 have access to Discovery Education Streaming Plus, a comprehensive digital library of more than 100,000 learning assets aligned to state and national curriculum standards.
For the third year in a row, a group of state officials, including the President of the University of Georgia, toured several agricultural interests in the state. Wednesday's Georgia Department of Agriculture and UGA Farm Tour focused on Northeast Georgia.
