ATLANTA - The new superintendent of Gainesville City Schools and Hall County Commissioner Scott Gibbs have been named to separate state boards by Gov. Nathan Deal.<br />
Wanda G. Creel was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia. Gibbs was named by the governor to serve on the state Board of Community Affairs.<br />
Deal also reappointed Bill Sloan of Gainesville, a retired Hall County educator, to Board of Trustees of the Georgia Teacher Retirement System.
This small city in northeast Hall County (estimated 2013 population of 2,847) wants to be ready for what’s coming; the Economic Development Council, an extension of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce wants to help them reach that point. Some fence-mending, however, might first be needed.
The Hall County SPLOST VII Citizens’ Review Committee met for the second time Monday afternoon at the Hall County Government Center, elected leaders and immediately began sharing their visions of the committee’s objectives.
