Former police investigator faces felony charges

HOMER - A former police investigator has been charged with several child sex charges.<br /> <br /> Stephen Floyd Alexander, 39, of Lula was arrested late Tuesday night by deputies from the Banks County Sheriff's Office for two counts of aggravated child molestation, two counts of aggravated sodomy, and two counts of false imprisonment.<br /> <br /> "Details are limited due to the ongoing investigation," said Sgt. Carissa McFaddin.<br /> <br /> The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Banks County Sheriff's Office with processing evidence located during service of a search warrant and conducting interviews throughout the region, McFaddin said. <br /> <br /> Additional charges are pending, McFaddin said.<br /> <br /> Alexander formerly was an investigator for Baldwin Police Department, and also has worked at other law enforcement agencies in the area. <br /> <br /> He is being held without bond at the Banks County Detention Center, McFaddin said.
