ATLANTA (AP) Georgia Department of Transportation officials say construction lane closures will be suspended during the holiday weekend. <br />
Officials say GDOT is suspending lane closures on interstates and major state routes between noon Thursday and 5 a.m. Monday to offset predicted heavy traffic. <br />
GDOT officials say the suspended lane closures will not include emergency lane closures that may be necessary. <br />
Crews may still be working near highways and drivers are asked to exercise caution and obey posted speed limit signs.
