CLARKESVILLE - Vehicular and boat traffic in the area of one cove in Lake Burton were interrupted for a time Saturday afternoon as a result of a propane leak.

Rabun County officials say a home propane tank on Moccasin Creek Road rolled down an embankment just after 2:30 p.m., resulting in the leak.

One resident sought refuge on her boathouse until she was evacuated by the Lake Rabun fire boat.

The leak was stopped about an hour after it was reported, but fire personnel remained on scene for another hour until the propane dissipated.

Moccasin Creek Road was shut down about a half mile from the leak in each direction. Boat traffic also was stopped about a quarter mile from the incident location.

No injuries were reported.
