Gainesville man found guilty in 2013 shooting death

GAINESVILLE - Joseph Scott Williams was found guilty this afternoon in the 2013 shooting death of Adrian Thompson. <br /> <br /> Williams was accused of shooting Thompson outside of the Pepper's Market last June. Thompson died that same day.<br /> <br /> According to Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh, Williams was found guilty on most counts, including malice murder, two counts of aggravated assault , felony murder, two counts of possession of a fire arm during the commission of a crime and one count of terroristic threats.<br /> <br /> "Not guilty verdicts were returned on two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree and an additional terroristic threats count," said Darragh.<br /> <br /> Darragh said sentencing had not been scheduled. "[It] is likely to take place sometime in mid-July."<br />
