Suspect in Gainesville shooting remains on the run

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville police said Friday morning they are continuing a search for the person who shot a man during an altercation on West Avenue Thursday afternoon.<br /> <br /> Gainesville Police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said when officers arrived at the scene they found a male victim who had been shot in the abdomen.<br /> <br /> "As for the number of times the individual was shot, that information is unknown," said Holbrook.<br /> <br /> Holbrook said the victim was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, but he did not know the condition of the victim.<br /> <br /> The suspect fled the scene in an unknown vehicle, according to Holbrook. <br /> <br /> He said the crime was not believed to be random in nature, and he thought the two people involved in the incident knew one another.<br /> <br /> <br />
