CUMMING - Forsyth County schools officials confirmed Friday punishments have been handed down to three high school seniors involved in a prank that administrators said was inappropriate.
Earlier this month, students at South Forsyth High School unveiled a large banner near the school's roof featuring a line from a rap song that contained a racial slur.
District spokeswoman Jennifer Caracciolo said Friday morning the three boys involved in the prank were suspended for five days but have been allowed to graduate.
Georgia Senators Johnny Isakson and David Perdue Thursday urged Senate leaders to remove language in the Energy and Water appropriations bill they say is a direct attack on Georgia in its ongoing water dispute with Alabama.
