Ga. National Guard troops from Toccoa deploying to Afghanistan

TOCCOA, Ga. (AP) A Georgia Army National Guard engineer unit is preparing for deployment to Afghanistan. <br /> <br /> Army officials say a departure ceremony is being held Thursday for the 876th Vertical EN Company at 10 a.m. at the Georgia Baptist Convention Conference Center in Toccoa. <br /> <br /> Officials say the unit's work overseas will include repair, construction, plumbing and more. <br /> <br /> Officials say the group from Toccoa will be deployed with nearly 150 guardsmen.
