Gainesville police ID suspect in restaurant robbery

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville police have identified a suspect in the Friday night robbery of the Captain D's restaurant on Pearl Nix Parkway.

Cpl. Joe Britte said Robert Malcolm Thompson remains at large and should be considered dangerous.

Thompson is believed to have entered the restaurant around 8 p.m. Friday, forcing employees to hand over cash and then fleeing the scene on foot.

Britte said a female employee of the restaurant sustained minor injuries during the incident; she was treated at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and released.

Authorities ask anyone who knows of Thompson's whereabouts to call Gainesville police or 911.
