Man seriously injured in midnight crash in Gainesville

By B.J. Williams News Director
GAINESVILLE - Emergency responders with the Gainesville Fire Department said Wednesday morning that a man was transported in serious condition to Northeast Georgia Medical Center after his vehicle was found down an embankment on Dixie Drive just off Browns Bridge Road.

The accident was reported around midnight, according to Gainesville Fire Division Chief Keith Smith.

Smith said crews arrived at the scene and found the vehicle down a 20-30 foot embankment and partially submerged in a creek. Personnel had to use ropes to access and remove the patient, according to Smith.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
