Former Baldwin mayor, Habersham Co. Commissioner dies

ALTO - A former mayor of Baldwin and former Habersham County Commissioner has died.

Tommy Lee Barrett, 74, Alto, died Thursday.

His tenure as mayor Baldwin, in the early 1990s, was a checkered one but despite the ups and downs of his political career, he held onto a core of devoted supporters.

The funeral will be at 3:00 Sunday at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin.
